Susan
Cannell, youngest child of Robert and Gertrude
Cannell, was born June 16, 1917 in Simi, CA.
She married Robert Winfield Ford (b. January
28, 1913 in Portland, OR) August 28, 1940 in
Forest Grove, Oregon.
They had one daughter: Ruth
Annette, August 7, 1945 in Forest Grove,
Oregon.
Susan
and Robert spent their entire married life on
a farm at Gaston, 13 miles southwest of Forest
Grove. Robert had lived on this farm since the
age of two. The farm, known as Spring Glade
Acres, was visited and loved by all of the extended
Cannell family. Many of the young boys spend
time summers helping on the farm and family
gatherings were numerous.
In more recent times (since sometime in the
mid 80's) Ruthie has been hosting an annual
Cannell family reunion in August at Spring Glade
Acres.
Susan died April 15, 1979 and Robert died July
9, 1983.
