After each title below you will see, in parentheses, the lineage of that person. For example: (Tom/Sharon/Jeff Wilder/Ruby) after the title about the birth of Ruby Marie tells you that Ruby descends from Tom (her Great-grandfather) and Sharon (her Grandmother) and Jeff (her father).
December 14-18, 2006 • An Anniversary Celebration in Portland!

Christine wrote: It was [Claude and my] 9th wedding anniversary, and Ruth and Dick showed us a special good time. Dick, who must know Mt. Hood like the back of his hand, drove us up to Timberline in pretty severe weather, and home again in even more severe weather - I think you could call it a whiteout. No road visible. Of course we enjoyed the snow like crazy Floridians let out of school. Instant Christmas! The fact that the historic train was out of the roundhouse and running, and that we could ride on it [along the Willamette River], put Claude in 7th heaven. He is a train freak of the old school. In addition to the whiteout on the road, we had two blackouts when the power went out on Saturday and Sunday nights. Actually it went out in the middle of our anniversary dinner - you've heard of dinners by candlelight - well, we did! Getting to the restroom by candlelight is more of a challenge. Winter weather was beautiful. All in all we had a wonderful time and enjoyed Ruthie and Dick no end.

Jeff sent the following announcement:
I, the proud papa, would like to announce the birth of our baby girl.
- Her name is Ruby Marie Wilder
- She was born yesterday (Sunday, 26 Nov 2006) at 8:30am
- She weighed in at 8 lbs. 9 oz. (20-3/4" long)
- She's beautiful (of course) ;-)
- Mom's doing great. I have a whole new respect for the strength and endurance required for childbirth. It was something to behold.
