Geraldine Cannell was born to Gertrude Jane Cannell Taplin and Alfred Eric Heeley Eric Taplin on February 12, 1947 in Hamburg (BAOR), Germany.

Geraldine moved to the United States with her family when she was in grade school. She graduated from UC Davis and then earned a medical degree.

Geraldine, with a specialty in internal medicine, has spend much of her professional life working with AIDS and its victims.  

She recently (March, 2004) traveled to China where she lectured on the topic to hundreds of interested medical students, their teachers, and practicing physicians.

Geraldine and John Morrison were married in October of 2004. They live, with their dog Albert, in Carmel, California and have a second home on Cortes Island, Canada.
