 Phoebe
Ann Cannell Beaulieu (Ann) was born to Tom
and Phoebe Cannell February 1, 1942. She married
John E. Beaulieu May 15, 1976.
They have one daughter:
Emily Ann , April 27, 1977.

Ann graduated from Portland State University
and after two years of teaching went to the
University of Washington where she gained
a masters in Librarianship. She then moved
to Astoria, Oregon and worked two years as
assistant Librarian at Clatsop Community College.
During that time she met a very friendly young
student, John Beaulieu. But they went their
own ways...Ann to travel to Australia and
then join the Peace Corps for 4 years. John
joined the navy for 4 years and then after
moving to Denver, CO, completed his masters
degree in Special Education.
After a telephone courtship (not having seen
each other in 5 years), they eloped to Reno
and were married in the Methodist church there...enjoying
the flowers of the previous wedding, reception
for which was going on in the basement. Witnesses
were two church ladies who came upstairs to
peek in.
Ann worked as a school librarian in Springfield,
Oregon while John gained his Ph.D. in Ed.
Psychology and in 1985 began to teach at Pacific
Lutheran University in Tacoma. The family
moved there in July, 1985. Ann "retired" from
working in elementary schools and stayed home
to run the small publishing business John
had started while in graduate school in Eugene,
OR.
Both John and Ann now work fulltime for Visual Health Information and have 11 other employees. Their dream is to be able to free themselves from the company enough to spend half of each year in their motorhome in sunnier places...but that isn't possible yet. Short trips must suffice for now.
The summer of 2004 was dominated by the happy occasion of the wedding of their only child, Emily, to Matt Herschleb (now Matt Beaulieu). This took place in La Jolla, California. John is a bit saddened by Emily and Matt's move from the San Diego/Encinitas area to Laguna Niguel which is closer to LA, CA. However, they spent Thanksgiving with Em and Matt and found that area has lots of beautiful and interesting things to see and do. Ann can't wait to get back down in warmer weather and catch the ferry to Catalina Island! The ferry dock is at Dana Point, about 10 minutes from their apartment.

Daughter
Emily graduated from the University
of WA and is now down in San Diego
pursuing her Ph.D. in Political Science.
She became engaged April 27th, 2003
to Matt Herschleb of Encinitas, CA.
Matt and Emily Beaulieu married August 14, 2004 in La Jolla, Ca. They honeymooned in Peru and then moved to Laguna Niguel, CA to be nearer Matt's work as Marketing Coordinator for Noritz America Corporation, a subsidiary of Noritz Corporation in Japan, which is the leading manufacturer in the world of tankless hot water heaters. Emily continues to work on her dissertation and hopes to begin looking for a university teaching position in the Political Science field in 2005/2006. |
